Controller Madness
I finally went and bought some MIDI controllers. See below…

Boxee Box: Dumbest thing ever or home media holy...
D-Link and Boxee have teamed up to make this ridiculous looking thing, the Boxee Box. Essentially it’s the Apple TV of Boxee. The first thing I notice is the atrocious design. They really overdid the abstract aesthetic of the hardware. It looks more obnoxious than edgy. Regardless, Boxee is a fantastic media solution which I use at home. Thankfully, it has built in wireless-N functionality...

The MPK Mini would be good for live bassline construction and simple synth riffs if run through Ableton and a ton of VSTs.

The Lunar Eclipse was Fantastic
I got to check out the lunar eclipse last night over beers and whatnot with some friends on the east side of town. I’ve wanted to see an eclipse since I was a kid. We stood outside in the freezing cold and listened to “Dark Side of the Moon” by Pink Floyd. Cliche, but fitting.

The EDM scene is changing
It’s an interesting time for the stateside electronic dance music scene. Fads have come and gone with new sub-genres and new techniques/hardware, but nothing in the last fifteen years has been as drastic as the recent revival of old school rave culture within the hipster scene. Right now, we’re seeing local dubstep acts at small venues with lines at the door that go around the block....
